Lettering Policy- (directly from the band handbook)-

Lettering

A student must earn 10 points in a school year to letter. Points will be awarded for the following:

•       Lettering points will not carry over from one year to the next. The student must begin a new accumulation of points each year.

4 points – TMEA Region Band Membership

3 points – TMEA Area Band Membership

2 points – TMEA All –State Band Membership

3 points – 1^st Division on Class One Solo

3 points – 1^st Division on a Class One Ensemble

1 point –  Advance to State – solo

2 points – 1^st division at State solo contest

1 point –  UIL Marching competition

1 point –  UIL Concert and Sight-Reading competition

1 point-    perform with Jazz band at all gigs

1 point –  hold section leader position and duties for the year

4 points – perfect attendance at all sectionals/rehearsals/performances for the year

1 point –  perform at graduation

 

Guard Lettering

3 points - 1st Division at NTCA Solo/Ensemble.

1 point - Advance to NTCA All-Stars

2 points - Score of 95 or higher at NTCA All-Stars

1 point - UIL Marching Competition 

1 point - Participation in Winter Guard

1 point - Hold an Officer Position for the entire school year. 

4 points - No Official Warnings or Probation for the entire school year.

Letter Jacket Policy

Students must meet the following requirements to earn a letter jacket:

• Once you letter you may buy your own jacket at any grade level
• A student that has not received a letter jacket by the end of their 11^th grade year, and who has remained in good standing every semester of their 9^th, 10^th and 11^th grade years, may be awarded a letter jacket at the beginning of their senior year.
• Must remain enrolled in band through Senior year. If a student does not remain enrolled in band for their senior year, they will return the letter jacket without any refund to the band, OR they will reimburse the band for the cost of their jacket.
• Students may not receive more than one major award. (ie Athletics and Band, Choir and Band etc.)

Please join the appropriate group based upon which band you are in (one group per director) to begin receiving your text messages. So you will be in two remind groups, one for each director. 

Text the codes below to 81010- you only will sign up for one for Williams and one for Ballaro. 

To leave a class, reply to that class with @LEAVE (please leave any class that you are not a part of so it saves room for the kids/parents who are actually in that band)
