Blue Haze Elementary
Blue Haze Elementary introduces students to the Fine Arts through Art and Music classes every week for all kindergarten through fourth grade students. All students also learn about Theatre Arts and Drama throughout their English Language Arts Curriculum. Several fourth graders are involved in creating daily Video Announcements or are part of our BHE Bears Podcasting Team. And, fourth and first graders had the opportunity to attend Ballet Performances at Bass Performance Hall this school year.
Fine Arts Academy
The Fine Arts Academy is a kindergarten through sixth grade campus that offers Theatre, Art, Music, Choir, Band, Dance and Media in addition to the core academic classes.
Kindergarten students participate in Art or Music daily, and first through fourth graders attend Art, Drama and Music through a daily rotation, diving deeper into the fundamentals of the arts every year.
This year, all students participated in the school-wide performance of the “Nutcracker.” And, more than 50 third through sixth graders auditioned for a variety of roles in FAA’s production of “The Lion King Kids” during the spring semester.
Every Friday is Fine Arts Friday at FAA, in which every grade level creates themed art projects (i.e. animals, authors, geography, etc.). The annual Fine Arts Academy Art Showcase highlights students’ talents, with student-created art throughout the school, and Band, Dance and Choir students performances.
Art
Students work with a variety of mediums and study many artists to develop their own skills.
Music & Choir
Students learn how to sing and read music by playing games and using their bodies. The kindergarten through fourth grade Music classes perform in various concerts and performances throughout the school year to showcase what students are learning.
Theatre
Students learn about the elements of production and the many roles needed for a successful show.

Liberty Elementary
Liberty Elementary offers STEAM, Art and Music in the kindergarten through fourth grade classes. Every grade level practices musical theatre plays with singing and dancing, which they perform for their families and classmates. Kindergarten and first grade students explore musical adventures with many friends through "Freddie the Frog" books and more. Second through fourth graders learn to play a variety of instruments including drum buckets, boom whackers, recorders and more. And, fourth graders perform in the annual Veterans Day Program and Talent Show.
The STEAM class introduces Liberty students to activities that enhance their motor skills and teach coding, creativity with art and teamwork. They learn about science, history, technology, engineering, arts and math, all while learning that imagination makes all these things possible.
North Elementary STEAM Academy
North Elementary STEAM Academy incorporates the arts during the school day. As a STEAM Academy, the campus incorporates STEAM activities and the design process into the daily curriculum. The STEAM block (rotations) provide students with the opportunity to participate in Art, Technology, Engineering, and Library (in addition to PE). Students can be creative in engineering and create their own designs, starting with sketching out what their final product will look like. In Technology, they use digital arts to create videos and podcasts. They have the opportunity to tie the arts into the curriculum using hands-on materials to create and design.
Virtual Academy
The Fine Arts program at the Virtual Academy of North Texas focuses on Theatre, Art and Music for students in grades K-8. All grade levels participate in recorded Readers Theatre performances, ranging from contemporary to the works of William Shakespeare.
Fourth through eighth graders participate in the yearly Virtual Shake Competition, which teaches students the art of public speaking.
Kindergarten through third graders learn Theatre History and Theatre Styles with Musical Theatre, Kabuki Theatre from Japan, and Greek Theatre with the use of Comedy and Tragedy Mask Work.
Additionally, our sixth and seventh graders create their own videos for our yearly Film Festival. The students may also perform in the yearly Talent Show and Veterans Day program, which honors community veterans!
West Elementary
In West Elementary Art program, pre-kindergarten through fourth grade students develop fundamental art skills which also enhances their motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking and inventiveness.
Projects have included painting furniture, publishing a book for the library, clay sculptures, wreath making and, weaving.
